Technology and Technology Integration
Goal 4: Candidates demonstrate their understanding of technology and technology integration.
Indicator 1: Evaluate current and emerging technologies and use appropriate technologies to accomplish professional and instructional tasks.
Project 1 is a web quest that brings together use of the Internet, Tumble books, audio books, and short video clips to help students discover the definition of figurative language and explore several types of figurative language that we use every day. This was the first web quest that my students had participated in and finished. At the end of the year I wanted to see how well the student retained information from the web quest. To my surprised 95% of my students were able to give examples of figurative language.
Indicator 2: Use a variety of technology tools to develop engaging learning experiences and assessment techniques.
Project 2, 3, and 4 demonstrate my use of multiple types of technology that enhance the learning experience, help capture students’ interest, and provide a ready means of assessment. Students use excel, web browsers, and online resources to facilitate their learning. The pictures on the top of this page shows my students engaged in technology by creating their own Prezi. One major take away from this goal is that students will reflect their teacher’s love or ambivalence of technology.
